Lonley Planet Italy 1998
"Pubs are the new big thing in Roma. They offer
a big selection of beers and many have Guiness on tap. A favourite
haunt of young foreigners, they're also popular with the locals.
In the centre, try the Drunken Ship, Campo De' Fiori, 20..." |

TimeOut Rome 2001
"The most popular meeting place on the Campo
after the Vineria, The Ship has become a place to go if, like
more and more trendy Romans, you would not be seen dead drinking
wine...Great location (with tables on the square) and slick design
distinguish it from nearby rivals. Student discounts, and DJs
in the evening." |

Timeout Rome 2003
"The Drunken Ship is a student favourite...perhaps
because of its student discounts and DJs of an evening. If you're
looking for a quieter drink, try the Ship's happy hour from 5pm
to 8pm." |

A selection of reviews from Let's Go...
Let's Go Rome 2004
Given up trying to break the language barrier? Rest
assured, there's someone here who speaks your language. A Heineken
will set you back 5.00 Euro, 2.50 for students (who also qualify
for 1.00 Euro shots throughout the week). Nightly themes 8-10pm.
A takeout window completes the American aesthetic...
Let's Go Western Europe 2004
Because you're tired of meeting Italians. Because
you feel the need to have an emotion-free fling with a kindred
spirit. Because you're proud to be an American, dammit!
Let's Go Europe 2000
Tired of meeting Italians? Never fear. At
The Drunken Ship, there are none, save a few who stand outside
in the piazza with their sights set on English-speaking tourists.
There is, however, very cheap beer and invariably good music.
Ask about student discounts...
Let's Go Europe 1997
This slick establishment warmly welcomes backpackers
with special reduced prices on drinks. The DJ spins mostly American
favorites and all the staff speaks English.

DK Top 10 Rome 2004
One of the liveliest hubs of Campo De' Fiori's renowned
nightlife, pumping out loud rock music. Very popular with young
Romans and foreigners alike. |

World's Best Bars
Most popular club-bar on the Campo with a modish design that
distinguishes it from other more classical venues. It's the place
to go if, like the trendiest young Romans, you would not be seen
dead drinking wine, although the main alternative is beer and
they only have three varieties [Actually we have *17* varieties
of beer!!] Still, they have all the top-shelf standards, a great
location right on the piazza, DJs most evenings and happy hour
from 5-8pm. Definitely not a dry ship. |

Beer In The Evening
One of the best "ex-pat" bars in Rome - Always buzzing
with American, Australian and English tourists/students on a Friday
and Saturday night. |

Yahoo! Travel
This disco bar owes its success to its strategic position in
the heart of Rome. The atmosphere is welcoming, enhanced by the
large number of young people, both Roman and foreign, to be found
inside. There's a good selection of beers, cocktails and snacks,
and happy hour is from 5pm-9pm. Tequila parties are often organised
and there are various music nights with DJs.

A2b Travel
The name of this inventive, American-owned bar does it no justice.
A swank interior and serene outdoor piazza seating has boatloads
of trendy young Romans setting sail on the high tides of this
see-and-be-seen watering hole. |
